Hi guys, how are you? Today’s Newsletter is going to take us to a freezing awesome place. We are talking about Iceland!

This country is an island located between North America and Europe and has very interesting geography and culture. Because of the geologic border where the island is located, in Iceland, there are a lot of hot geysers and the weather varies a lot, depending on where you are at. From the famous geysers to the mountains and their glaciers, the geography of this country is beautiful and diverse whenever you look. As a country placed on a geologic border, there are also many volcanoes across Iceland. With around 200 volcanoes, the country has a lot of eruptions and earthquakes occurring. But also, it has many hot springs and soil rich in basalt, a type of volcanic rock.

Iceland was primarily founded during the Viking age, and was formed by the Norse and Celtic populations. The country keeps to this day many of the traditions from their ancient cultures, but it does not mean that they are isolated from the rest of the world, since they are considered part of the European civilization. Even more, Iceland is a modern place that has found some kind of balance between tradition and modernization. They try hard to keep traditions, habits, and language, such as some beliefs from folklore (trolls and elves for example) at the same time they acquire modern features from the rest of Europe. An interesting fact about it is that the population of Iceland is very ethnically homogeneous. Because of it, geneticists even conducted studies about hereditary diseases in the country, to help find the cure for them.

Besides all that, Iceland is also a wonderful destiny for tourism, where you can have all sorts of unforgettable adventures. From watching whales to exploring ice caves, from seeing glaciers and geysers to aurora borealis, Iceland is a very rich place for natural tourism. Thinking about that, we, the Newsletter team, brought a little tip to know more about it. For those who may be planning a visit to Iceland someday, or for those who are just curious about the destinations in this beautiful country, there is a “Guide to Iceland”, where you can have all kinds of content about trips there. On the website, there are reviews, tour plans, prices and discounts, and much more! So if it seems fun to you check it out at https://guidetoiceland.is/.
