WILL BRAZILIANS BE THE SAME WHEN EVERYTHING ENDS?

Brazilians have never seen a scenery like we have been living right now. People are becoming sicker and sicker every day. They are ill because they lost their job. They are ill because they cannot work. They are ill because they have bills to pay and no money for it. They are ill from mental issues that are getting worse. At the same time that we have a virus almost killing a person per minute in our country.

I have never seen Brazilians so hopeless, so apathetic. It seems that so much tragedy has been going on lately that we are too numb to change things. It feels like we are incapable of feeling something anymore. When I imagine my country as a human body as a metaphor, I see a lethargic human body thrown in a dark and dirty street that is so injured that is not even able to cry for help.

It is impossible to see the same nation that was once described as affective, emotional and loving before everything started. One of the most important things that we could offer was our warm hugs to each other and even that was taken away from us.

Brazilians are abandoned to survive on their own, because neither the government nor the authorities are going to do anything. Why is that? The answer is simple. They simply do not care.
