(WHY) BEING THE YOUNGEST CHILD IS: NOT EASY/ THE BEST/ THE WORST

Getting our parent's attention may be our main goal as a young child, and the older you are, the harder it gets. Being an older child has a few advantages, even more if you are the first one, you will be more spoiled than you will ever be in your whole life. Just imagine, how many people got excited to know you were coming? How many photos did your parents take from you? Even though that is a pretty good life, that is not the story I am about to talk, since I am the second child!

Ever since I was born, my sister's life became a little hard, I could say. Take a look, she had all the attention during that long until I came and slay with all her power and glory! And believe it or not, it can, and got, worse than that.

My sister and I grew up together, same dad and mother, but that did not make it impossible for us to look like the very opposite of each other. She was more like punk rock and I was ballet, she broke almost every bone she had on her body, and I was scared of germs. She played soccer with the boys, I played chess with the girls, I was the best student possible, and she was the worse you could imagine. At a certain point in our lives, comparisons were something pretty frequent and it made my life a little harder. On one hand, I had my family supporting me and being so proud, but at the same time, they painted an image of me that I did not fit in. I was not the best student ever, I was just ok. But because of that pressure, I had to be the best the entire time!

Being the younger one is great, you receive a lot of attention, but sometimes it feels like you receive the game controller but it is not plugged in.  A few months ago, I received a gift from my dad: my little sister was born and now she is the one who has the spotlight. But after that long being the spoiled one, I do not think my spot will ever be stolen... or will it?
