FRESHMEN WELCOME
by Giovana Martinez, Wanessa Weisser
Hi, guys! Newsletter passing by to comment on a very cool event that took place in our course in the last few days, our freshmen reception! We had a schedule full of activities to integrate our new students into our course, so, the event took place on 05/03 and 05/05.

On the first day, we had a meeting at the auditorium between the 1st and 2nd year students and the coordination and teachers, with a presentation of the course, a conversation about the research and extension projects and the scholarship projects that our course offers. Professor Fernanda, for instance, spoke a little about our dear Spring Festival that has already been highlighted here in the Newsletter editorials. In addition to all this, we had music and magic presentations with the 3rd year students Alex and Júlia and student Sávio, from the 4th year.

On the second day, we had very important talks about Internationalization with Professor Juliane. Our ETA Adrienne spoke a little about the project she is part of, in which she provides very important assistance to our classes. Our teachers Raquel and Fernando talked about their published works, showing their books to the students. Finally, there was the moment of integration among all the students, with a super cool dynamic of finding challenges scattered around the room and executing them - moments of a lot of fun!
Check the testimonials given by students Natália, Jhonatan and Laura, respectively, from the second year, about the event:

“The reception of the freshmen was a very nice moment, just as the return of the presential lessons. After a year studying at home, coming back to classes and classroom activities is another world! I was really excited! The reception was great to meet the colleagues of the course and know more about the projects of our professors.

“I guess the event is really important for the adaptation of new students, that were in remote learning. It was a moment for the students meet each other, meet the professors and feel welcomed by the course and the institution”.
“The reception was very nice, especially in this face-to-face phase, warmer and interactive. In my opinion, it was very important for us to have an ideia of how the course will be, and how our academic life will be from now on. Meeting our classmates has totally excited me, listening to the teachers closer made all difference. Although I am in my second year, I can be sure that I chose the right course, because I felt even more excited and happy with all the information and with the reception. I hope that this environment continues like this, because it made me exceed my expectations about my academic life at Unespar”
