Hello, eveybody! In its last edition of 2021, Newsletter is here to talk about one of the most awaited subjects of the recent times: our in-person comeback!

Last Thursday we had a meeting to deliberate on the dates of this long-awaited moment, and, if there is no other circumstances until then, the return will take place in 2022. Valuing the safety and well-being of everyone, this moment is close to happen. The dates, as stated above, are still being deliberated, but the event feels more real to us now!

 

Thus, the Newsletter team, that you have read and followed during this year, came here to comment and share with you this moment of expectations.

 

The first to share her opinion with us is freshman, now future veteran, Laura. She said: “Online classes never crossed my mind when I imagined college, but with the pandemic taking us all by surprise, there was no other way but to adapt. Insecurities surrounded us, but we managed to make it work anyway. Days, weeks, and months walked us by and we continued in the same way, until we got used to it. After almost two years of covid-19, without being able to meet friends and classmates, we were promised the "comeback". With everyone vaccinated and ready to return to the “normal” that no one else recognizes, it's almost impossible to put the anxiety and expectations aside. We make plans and program ourselves for what's to come, and I particularly can't wait to start an unprecedented stage of my life, since I started it along with these sudden changes”.

 

Certainly, we all share a bit of Laura's thinking: this period was one of insecurity and challenges!

 

Now the student Giovana, in the 2nd year of our course, shares with us a little of her wishes. She said: “I lived the life of a face-to-face university student for just 15 days of my academic career, I have more remote experiences than face-to-face. The pandemic period was undoubtedly atypical, but what I know of university life is in it!  I'm looking forward to going back to face-to-face classes and living campus life, but it seems challenging as well as the remote at first, it will require adaptations, but I'm ready and looking forward to taking on more of this challenge!  Come, third year!  Haha”

 

A new year with new realities on board! Ana Carolina, a veteran from the 4th year also had some words to share with us: "I can say that I had a balance between my experiences with remote and presential classes since I spent half the course in both. I can also say that those last two years have been exhausting, and I miss so many things from going to university, our interactions with professors and classmates, our course events (highlights for the Spring Festival, saraus, and the solidary Halloween). Because of it, I am more than glad that our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be able to experience the best of our course when they get back! However, I am also happy to finish my journey in this kind of classes, we learned a lot from the difficulties and realized that we could handle more than we actually believed that we were able to. And I believe that we owe a lot to our professors that stayed strong with us to finish this hard path"

 

In the end, we have Natália, a student with a particular experience: she started the course before the pandemic, left during it, and started again: I started studying last year, but ended up leaving the course when the pandemic hit. My experience with in-person classes was very short so I am very excited and looking forward to going back to college! I know few teachers personally and none of my colleagues, I'm really looking forward to that too!
